In his new photo book »Cali Chronicles«, photographer Tobias Bärmann traces the hidden sides of the city of dreams, Los Angeles. He roams through the huge metropolis, which is tailored to automobile mobility, on his bike and discovers an aesthetics of transition and the unfinished beyond the glittering surfaces. Many motifs bear witness to the past actions of unknown protagonists. With a subtle eye for the poetry of the ephemeral and the supposedly trivial, Bärmann draws attention to everything that our civilization produces by chance, so to speak.
